Baroque Power Structure Twenty Twenty

Baroque Power Structure Twenty Twenty, 150 x 120cm, Ink on paper

This was an attempt to visualise the US Government’s recent displays of aggression, ‘dominance’ and the willingness to use force to protect the existing hierarchy. The astonishing visage of violence is pictured here in a viridian hue something between the colour of money and bronze statues. Drawn with brush and old fashioned ‘dip pen’ (and featuring tear gas canisters emitting a filigree haze) the work ventures to evoke something of the primal fear of our moment cloaked in an excess of pageantry.
